1) Is Universal Jobmatch set to be mandatory?
On 20 December 2012 it was broadcast on Radio 4′s World at One that Universal Jobmatch appears set to become mandatory for people claiming Jobseekers Allowance.
2) New Jobseeker’s Agreement
Preparation for this change is also reflected in the new Jobseeker’s Agreement form produced on 18 November 2012:
Whilst the above form includes Universal Jobmatch (UJ), it still does not state whether registration is mandatory, but is suggestive of a pre-existing UJ account. Though the “Other activities” section could include instructions (agreement) to register. It also does not say ‘search’ for jobs as this can be done without logging in to UJ and could be indicative of a requirement to login and “check” jobs ‘matched’ against any profile or searchable CV.
